Information Engineers
U.K. Company Registration no: 2806428
The Company was founded in April 1993 to exploit the expertise of the Directors in engineering materials and software engineering and with a wide experience of computer systems and software development.
Information engineering
Information engineering uses international standard specifications to enable the unambiguous communication of engineering data between different computer systems.
Information engineering is supported by the international standards for product data technology developed by ISO Technical Committee184/SC4 that include:
ISO 10303 Product data representation and exchange (known as STEP) – for the computerised representation of design and manufacturing data for individual products;
ISO 13584 Parts libraries (known as PLIB) – for computerised reference dictionaries to support standards in the ISO 10303 series.
Product data technology (PDT) has been developed in a global project with support and cooperation between the largest companies in most of the main industrial sectors, such as auto, aerospace, defence, off-shore oil and gas, process plant, shipbuilding, etc. Ferroday Ltd is a major contributor to this global project, specialising in the application of this technology to engineering materials, materials technologies and environmental data.
Ferroday Ltd developed the ISO 10303-45: Materials and is currently developing the ISO 10303-235 'Engineering properties for product design and validation' to enable the computerisation of any property data measured by any method.
Principal activities
The aims of the company are to exploit and apply this unique experience and examples of their recent activities are:
Other activities
British Patent GB2 366 430 B has been granted to Ferroday Ltd to apply the combination of Automatic Identification and Capture (AIDC) technology and information engineering standards to recycling, particularly for End-of-Life-Vehicles (ELV). This Patent was one outcome of a SMART Award from the UK Government in 1999.
